I first learnt Bowen Therapy in 1992 as an elective modality for my Diploma in Massage Therapy with Central School of Tactile Therapies. Like many people my first experience was quite profound - chronic shoulder pain that I suffered periodically from over a period of ten years was resolved. While working as a Massage and Bowen Therapist in Bendigo for 11 years, I taught all levels of Massage Therapy up to Diploma and also filled the position as assistant manager at Central School of Tactile Therapies(CSTT), which included staff management and training and student liaison. In 2003 I became a Bowen Instructor and began instructing for Bowtech and Border College of Natural Therapies(BCNT) and I now teach Certificate and Diploma levels of Bowen in NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. I live in Ulladulla on the south coast of NSW just north of Batemans Bay. It is a beautiful spot with great views of the South Pacific ocean, a wonderfully healing environment. I have a belief that Bowen is for everybody and everybody has the ability to make Bowen part of their lives no matter who they are. I am passionate about assisting people to learn Bowen and determined to spread the miracle of Bowen for the benefit of all.
In the years since I started instructing in Bowen Therapy I have met the most amazing people. People who have changed their lives (some who have changed mine!), people who have developed and grown in ways they would never have believed possible and a lot of them have remained friends and colleagues. Most weeks I get a number of phone calls and emails from all over Australia from students, from practitioners and from people wanting to know about Bowen and how they can learn to do it too. Some want to create a new and more fulfilling career for themselves, some simply want to help their families and others are just fascinated and don't know why they want to learn they just do!!!
Just knowing that when I go to work in the morning I am going to be interested, challenged, surprised and fulfilled is mind blowing and that is thanks to Bowen!!!
